S&ME, Inc. welcomes Byron Hinchey as Senior Project Manager

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Bryon Hinchey as a Senior Project Manager at S&ME, Inc.

Byron has 30 years of water resources engineering experience with Amec Foster Wheeler and two years with the U.S. Geological Survey. He has served as project manager on numerous municipal water resources projects and his technical duties have included hazard mitigation, flood response and recovery, stormwater CIP planning and design, stormwater infrastructure inventory and analysis, detailed hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, stormwater master planning, municipal stormwater program development, municipal stormwater NPDES permitting, stormwater user fees, and green infrastructure planning. Byron served as the Amec Foster Wheeler Program Manager for three disaster response contracts following the historic May 2010 flood in Nashville, Tennessee. He oversaw the efforts of more than 50 staff performing disaster-related services including residential and commercial damage assessments, stormwater infrastructure damage assessments, public relations, and stormwater system design, cost estimating, and construction management. For a decade, Byron served as program manager for numerous multi-faceted contracts for Metro Water Services (MWS), the water, sewer, and stormwater authority in Nashville, Tennessee. These contracts included a variety of projects and services, including watershed studies; NPDES permitting, green infrastructure master planning; hydrologic and hydraulic modeling; determination of system capacity, program, and policy development; project planning and design; erosion control; streambank stabilization; environmental permitting; geotechnical; surveying; construction management; and multiple agency/utility communication and coordination. Currently, Byron assists offices in several states providing a variety of water resources services to clients throughout the southeastern U.S.

Jason most recently served as the Vice President of Remediation at Great Lakes E&I based out of Kalamazoo, MI. In this capacity he was responsible for the overall performance and quality of this business line in addition to the management of projects, programs and clients nationwide. His professional career spans over 20 years in this industry and he has experience in all phases of project execution including investigation, planning, permitting, estimating, negotiations, contracting, purchasing, staffing, resource allocation, implementation, health and safety, quality assurance and reporting.

He has managed projects that include the design and implementation of water and air treatment systems, in and ex-situ remediation technologies, solidification and stabilization approaches, and engineered excavations and shoring systems. Utilizing both cutting edge and re-purposed proven technologies he provides innovative solutions for environmental and remediation projects. He proven in the execution of large and complex projects requiring the integration of multiple specialty and trade contractors alike and has worked successfully for commercial, industrial, municipal, state and federal clients within a variety of contract delivery mechanisms. He also has extensive experience in the removal, transport, handling and treatment, solidification and stabilization and disposal of impacted sediments.
