William Matteson founded Atlanta-based Matteson Partners, Inc. in 1987. From the beginning the firm's mission has been to provide a very personal brand of executive search services by leveraging the relationships, experience and expertise of the firms partners to shape effective placements. Matteson Partners offer their clients and candidates executive-level insights into their industries and disciplines, resulting in more effective placements. Accordingly the firm has earned a widely recognized reputation for integrity, client satisfaction and retention among both clients and candidates alike. In addition to managing the firm, Matteson remains very involved in new business development and ongoing searches for existing clients. He works closely with the firms Partners, believing that teamwork and applying collective resources to every search are critical to the success of the firm and its clients. Prior to forming Matteson Partners, Matteson spent 18 years in a succession of managerial roles with the IBM Corporation, where he gained extensive domestic and international experience in sales, sales management, marketing, and human resources. Mattesons tenure with IBM included product management for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. In this capacity, he was responsible for all phases of product development, marketing, sales and P&L. Matteson holds a bachelor's degree in Economics from Central Washington State University. He has completed coursework at the Wharton School; the J.L. Kellogg School; the Darden Graduate School of Business and specialized IBM training programs in New York and Belgium.  
Bill Matteson enjoys regular involvement in the lives of his five children, now all grown and professionally accomplished, and their families. He is extensively involved in sports, including tennis, golf and especially squash, which he plays frequently in the United States and Europe. It is no coincidence that Mattesons corporate offices in the Two Ravinia high-rise are located just upstairs from two fine squash courts. |
